Please turn in your Bibles, my beloved. We just heard the beautiful song about heaven, “I’m Going Up Yonder,” and I was sharing with the people that back in the old days, the black church particularly sang a whole lot more about heaven, and I believe the white church did too. But the church today does not sing that much about heaven as they used to. And so we’re going to not just sing about heaven and hear that powerful gospel song—one of the most powerful gospel songs about heaven in the history of the church—and so we’re going to preach about heaven.
And here’s our title. As you know, I’ve been preaching about heaven for going on, let’s see, two years this year. And so I want to preach in your hearing, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, family, friends, and foes, and yes, even foes in the family. I want to preach in your hearing: “The End of Sorrow.” Martyr Charlie Kirk and martyr Daniqua Grace White are in that place of grace called Heaven, where there is no more crying, no more pain, and no more dying. And according to the song we heard, “I’m Going Up Yonder,” if you’re born again and saved, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, you’re going to heaven too.
Charlie Kirk is there by the grace of God. Now, was Charlie Kirk perfect? Are you perfect? No. Jesus Christ died for sinners. Sister Daniqua Grace was not perfect either, but they both died for the cause of Christ. And we are honoring God, we are honoring Jesus Christ, and we are honoring them. Mr. Ruiz, so good to see you. MD, so glad to have you.
And so, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, family, friends, and foes, and yes, even foes in the family, however, I do thank God for my quiver full of children. God has blessed me to come out of my loins, as the Bible talks about. Turning your Bibles to Revelation chapter 21, verses one through seven:
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

Ladies and gentlemen, shall we pray?
Holy Father God, we are weak, but Thou art strong. I praise You, Lord, and thank You for Your presence. I praise You and thank You for Your love, Your grace, Your mercy, and Your forgiveness of sins and the ability to forgive by the power of Your Holy Spirit and Your grace. Where we have sinned in word, thought, and deed as Christian people, for Jesus Christ’s sake, have mercy and grace upon each and every one of us. Please forgive us, Lord, of our sins. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness and make us, Lord, to be whiter than snow on the inside. And Lord God in heaven, I pray that You would demonstrate the power of Your Holy Spirit. Speak to our hearts from Your holy word. And Lord, we give You the glory, praise, and honor for Your love, Your grace, Your mercy, and for Your servants who died in the faith standing for You—Charlie Kirk and Daniqua Grace White. Comfort the families. Comfort the people who have lost loved ones. And for those who are lost in these respective families, help them to repent and believe in You, Lord Jesus Christ, so that they can go to heaven—yea, go up yonder one day—and be with them. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray, and for His sake, Amen.
By way of introduction, ladies and gentlemen, this is sermon number 13 in this series about heaven and martyrdom. This is perhaps one of the most beloved passages of holy scripture in the Bible regarding heaven. And notice something remarkable about it: it defines heaven not just by what is there, but by what is missing from there. John the Revelator does not begin by telling us about the streets of gold or the gates of pearl. The great voice out of heaven begins by telling us what will never be found there ever again. In other words, we will never see it again: no more tears, no more death, no more sorrow, no more crying, no more pain.
And so, beloved, in this passage, God performs a divine surgery. He takes the scalpel of His sovereign grace and removes the cancer of grief, of mourning, from the human experience. In the book of Job, the Bible talks about that a man born of woman is a few days and full of trouble. All gone—completely, permanently, and personally. That’s worth heaven right there, by the way. Ladies and gentlemen, the former things are not merely improved upon; they are not merely managed—that’s what we do down here, and I find it very full of vanity how human beings try to manage the tragedy in life every day. They are not merely managed; they are passed away in heaven where Daniqua Grace White is and where Charlie Kirk is.
So beloved, we come to this text today with tender hearts because we come remembering God and Jesus Christ and their servants, their martyrs—two servants of God who now live in the very place this passage describes. Praise the Lord!

On September the 10th, 2024, sister Daniqua Grace White, my daughter, was martyred and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And then on September the 10th, the same day she died a year before, the whole world saw Charlie Kirk martyred before the whole world on September the 10th, 2025—the same day, exactly one year later. That is not by coincidence, my friends. Charlie Kirk was martyred and entered into that same presence of the Lord. This is a sermon and a message and a series that we’ve been preaching ever since Daniqua Grace was martyred and died, going on two years this year, one year for Charlie Kirk. And God has led me to remember them. God wants all of us to remember them and the way that they have been treated by the world.
Sister Gypsy Heart, so glad to have you. It is absolutely disgusting, people laughing about a man being shot dead in public because he stood for Christ and because he was a born-again Christian. And this is what the world does not understand. No, he was not perfect, and if he had not gotten into politics, God would have used him more. And let me just be real with you: the money is in the politics; there’s no money in ministry. This is why many preachers become Judases and they take the money that they can get every two years or every four years trying to get into politics, and so they want their hands greased. So I don’t believe that Charlie Kirk was like that. However, he understood for what he was doing, he had to get into the politics game.
I believe I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: he would have been greater than Billy Graham if he had not gotten caught up into politics. A preacher in Oklahoma got caught up in politics, urged by the different parties. People are being urged by the different parties to get in, and this preacher followed them. Sister Bliss, and thank you, Sister Gypsy Heart, for sharing this life. I tell all preachers: do not get involved with politics. Do not let a politician build your fellowship hall or build the addition to the church. And some of them may even want their names on the building. God forbid! Don’t put a politician’s name on your church building like some people have. God forbid, okay? Don’t take that money. That’s the way they’re trying; they’re buying you because they paid for your education building. Now you are more devoted to him than to Jesus. I said it before, I’ll say it again: Charlie Kirk was a very gifted young man and he would have been greater than Billy Graham if he had stuck with the gospel only. He still probably would have died, but in the way he did. But I have to encourage young preachers—and sad to say, old preachers—do not get involved in the politics game. This is dealing with a bunch of liars that talk on both sides of their mouths, and it’s going to be about the money.
Two martyrs, two servants, one day on the calendar one year apart, they died. And ladies and gentlemen, you can say what you want, but that’s not by coincidence. No, sir. No, ma’am. Do not tell me that is a coincidence. There are no coincidences with our sovereign God, no happenstance. The same God who numbers the hairs of our heads and knows when a sparrow falls to the ground (Matthew 10:29-30) appointed those days for a reason. And He has bound these two witnesses, these two martyrs, together in the memory of the church as a testimony that precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.
Sister Bliss, it is so wonderful to have you back in the services again today. She doesn’t want me to tell you all this, but Sister Bliss has been in church services for seven days in a row at least here at Gospel Light House of Prayer. And we thank God for her because God raised her up for such a time as this, like Esther, to help a ministry, a church, a poor preacher and his poor wife tremendously. And we give God the glory, the praise, and the honor for her. And we thank the Lord for Gypsy Heart as well, how that she comes freely and gives and does the most important thing, and that is to open up this service to her live audience, which helps the ministry a whole lot. And we give God the glory and praise and honor for her as well.
Psalm 116:15: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” I’ve tried to tell you people, some of you are going to die alone. You hear me? You hear me well? Why? Because the love of many has waxed cold in your family, in your church, in your world. Let me help you: this world is moving so fast and so many bad things are happening so quickly, people don’t have time for you anymore. Children, grandchildren, parents don’t have time for you anymore. Okay? You may die alone. Most people will as time goes on. You’re going to die alone. Nobody’s going to be in the hospital with you, but God and Jesus. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. I pray that you have somebody with you, but that is not likely today. You have people in your family; they can’t wait till you die to see how much money they’re going to get from insurance and from you and from your will.
Don’t bow your head yet; it’s not time to pray. I’m telling you the truth. See, I think some of that is behind these children, grown children and grown grandchildren, killing their parents and killing the grandparents. I mentioned to the FBI you need to check some of these older parents who have children, make sure they’re not putting them up to this—the grandchildren putting them up to killing their grandparents. Because this has happened to get the house, to get the cars, to get the insurance money. So I told all the people who want to smile and grin: you probably were able to do this back in the day, but you can’t do this today. You can’t sit down and smile and grin with your children and grandchildren and tell them that you have 10 million dollars that will be dispersed to everybody after I die. It’s in a certain account and all of that. You better keep that to yourself. In the words of Sister Mary Foster, “You tell some and you keep some.” Okay? Don’t tell everything, because the people getting around you to knock you off.
Just a few days ago, a 17-year-old son, just because his mother—who happens to be a beautiful lady, had a nice smile and everything—said something about her son on her Facebook account or whatever, and she was no doubt just kidding about it, and 17 years old, he got mad, took a kitchen knife, and stabbed his mother to death and tried to kill his father too. Some of these children and grandchildren are demon-possessed. They’re woke. And Charlie Kirk got killed by some woke, homosexual-based transgender man; they lost his mind. If you saw that kid on the street, you would just think that he’s just a regular American boy. He still is like a boy, mind gone.
So the Lord will be there with you. Go ahead on and believe in Jesus Christ. My beloved, I’m not playing. I’m urging you to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ now. Jesus Christ told you—He told everybody—the most important words in the history of the world: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Take care of that. In the words of one preacher, take care of that now. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” (Psalm 116:15).
Now beloved, hear me carefully: we do sorrow. The Bible does not forbid tears. For many people, they can’t help it. Some people have been crying about the death of family members for months; some get broken up even after years. Jesus Christ himself wept at the grave of Lazarus; that was his friend (John 11:35). But the Bible tells us we sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. See, as Christians, when you know the person went to heaven because you led them to the Lord yourself—I led my daughter Daniqua Grace to the Lord myself. I remember even to this day how that while she was praying the salvation prayer, we were both kneeling down, and the tears began to flow down her cheeks. And she served the Lord like a soldier. The most, I mean, just thorough, faithful, dependable. Whatever I asked her to do for the ministry, she got it done. Even after her big sisters and big brother left, she became the leader of the other children and was faithful and consistent.
But the Bible tells us we sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. You say, “Did you shed tears when your dad died?” No. I knew my dad was saved and born again. Cry for what? “Did you cry when your brother, your little brother died?” I didn’t cry one tear. That’s a God thing. I’m not over here trying not to cry; it was not in my heart to cry. Why would I cry over my little brother? My dad and my little brother—out of all the family members, I believe those two were saved. Okay? And I hope the others got saved, but I doubt it. That’s right. My mother claims to be a preacher, but I doubt her salvation because she wouldn’t be doing what she’s doing. Same thing for my two sisters. I pray for their salvation, just like I doubt my own wife’s salvation. See, Jesus said, “By their fruits you will know them.”
First Thessalonians 4:13: “Sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.” Or did you shed a tear when your daughter died, when your brother died, when your dad died? Not one tear. In fact, I maintain my joy by the grace of God. And there’s nothing wrong with shedding tears, but because of this prayer that God gave me before they all died—except for my dad—see, but I made peace with my dad a long time ago before he died. God made it his business to make me make it my business to make sure I was at peace with my dad, who I hated like a demon when I was lost and on my way to hell. I can’t imagine a son hating his father more for no reason; in my case, the most loving man I’ve ever met anywhere. But I hated him so much, and I hated the fact that he was a preacher, and I bore his name to the point, Sister Bliss, I said, “I’m going to change my name to Connell.” I had a cousin named Connell. I’m going to change my name to Connell, which I thank God I didn’t.
The Bible tells us we sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. Why am I going to cry and boohoo when I know where she is? I know where my daughter is. I’ve been—this may blow your mind—but I’ve been closer to my dad and closer to my daughter Daniqua Grace since they’ve been in heaven. Not so much with my brother; I believe that he was, from what I understand, not living for the Lord when he died, but I believe that he was saved.
Our sorrow has an expiration date. Our grief has a terminus. And Revelation 21 tells us where sorrow goes to die. That is why I have titled this message “The End of Sorrow.” See, that’s going to be heaven right there. No more sorrow, no more guilty feelings, no more pain in your soul, no more pain in your body. That’s heaven right there to me. And the end of sorrow, because for martyred Daniqua Grace White and martyred Charlie Kirk, sorrow has already ended. They don’t know what it is to be sorrowful anymore. They are in that place of grace called Heaven, where there is no more crying, no more pain, Sister Bliss, and no more dying.
Let us walk through what God’s word says about that place, and we will pick it up next time.
Shall we pray?
Holy Father God, I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, thank you so much for speaking to our hearts through Your holy word. Lord, comfort Your people who are born again and saved in this sin-cursed world, and save those who are lost so that they will know—they don’t even know You, and they don’t even know the truth if they’re lost and on their way to a devil’s hell. Lord, help them to know You and be saved and have their eyes opened. Save those who are lost, revive those who are saved, heal those who are sick, comfort those who are grieving and mourning. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray, and for His sake, Amen.
And dear friend of mine, as I said earlier, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” That’s the word of God. And the fact that Jesus Christ has told everybody in the world, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Understand you need to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for three reasons:
Number one: You need to understand that you are a wicked and evil sinner and you have violated God’s law. You have violated the Ten Commandments. You have committed crimes against God in heaven. The Holy Bible says we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, so nobody can look down their nose at anybody.
Number two: You are going to die, and you need to get ready for death. Having life insurance is not going to get it. Knowing who’s going to be your funeral home director and where you’re going to be buried is not enough. You need to know not only the undertaker, but you need to know the Uppertaker. His name is Jesus Christ. And I mean that. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Have faith in Jesus Christ. Pray and ask Him to save you, because the Bible says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Number three: You will die and go to hell one day as sure as I’m black and my last name is White. Okay? It is that sure. You will go to the burning hill if you do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Your unbelief will not change the fact that you will go to hell. If you don’t believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, pray and ask Him to save you. Do it right now:
Holy Father God, have mercy and grace upon my soul. I admit that I am a wicked and evil sinner that has violated your Ten Commandments. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please forgive me of all of my sins as I now believe in You, Lord Jesus Christ, by faith. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to change. Help me to repent of my sins. Give me a heart like Yours and help me to follow You in the newness of life. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray, and for His sake, Amen.

Those of you who got saved today, here are a few things that will help you grow in the faith. Here are your next steps:
Get baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
Start praying three times a day. Learn the Lord’s Prayer from Matthew chapter six that the Lord taught us, and pray without ceasing. Pray, pray, pray, and ask God for help every time you need help.
Read the Bible every day. I would encourage you strongly to pray every morning no matter how you feel, and read the Bible every morning no matter how you feel. And I assure you that if you’re a born-again saved child of God, your days will be different and they will unfold differently in a positive way.
Obey what the Bible says, what Jesus Christ said: “If you love me, keep my commandments.”
Be a witness for the Lord. Go to Fellowship Tract League and order some gospel pamphlets. And nowadays—I mean, we did it back in the day over 20 years ago—you can send gospel tracts out now online. You can create your own gospel tracts and send them out to your friends and family. At least witness to your friends from high school and college and so forth, and your family before you leave this earth. That’s your domain. These are people that God’s going to hold you accountable for.

THE GOSPEL IN A NUTSHELL
The Most Important Question in the World: Have You Been Twice Born?
This is the “Chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #447, titled, “The Big Question.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says: that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.
“Have You Been Born Again?”
The question is not, “Have you joined a church?” or “Are you trying to do your best?” or “Do you have religion?” but, “Are you twice-born?” Jesus Christ said in John 3:3, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
We enter the physical world by birth. Spiritual life, likewise, is entered with a birth. We become members of a human family by birth; we become members of the family of God by birth, by being “born again.” There is no other way to get into the human family except by birth, and there is no other way to get into God’s family except by the new birth. Neither education, nor cultivation, nor reformation, nor “turning over a new leaf,” will accomplish this. What is needed is not a new “leaf” but a new “life”! “Ye must be born again” (John 3:7).
A New Nature Needed
By physical birth, we become partakers of human nature; by being born again, we become “partakers of the divine nature.” A Christian is the product of a divine “begetting.” The second birth is not an improvement of the old nature; it is the imparting of an entirely new nature. The old nature is hopelessly corrupt and incapable of ever being made fit for His presence. The new birth requires a creative act of the Holy Spirit. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.”
Not “Trying” But “Trusting”
“Trying to follow Christ” is not Christianity. Christianity is not imitation of Christ; it is the indwelling of Christ. Christianity is not trying to do anything. It is trusting Christ, who has done it all! He has “finished the work,” and there is nothing left to do but simply to receive and trust Him. He shed His precious blood on the cross, and the work is all done once and forever! Cease trying and begin trusting! Believers will progressively become more and more like Christ, but by His power, not their own.
What Must I Do To Be Saved?
Simply “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.” The Bible says in 1 John 5:1, “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God.” The Bible states in John 1:12-13, “As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
You are born again, you become a Christian by trusting a Person—receiving a Person. The very moment you do this, the Lord Jesus Christ comes in and life begins!
What Is Meant By “Believe”?
To “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” means more than simply believing the historic facts concerning Him. Intellectual belief about Christ is not sufficient. The belief that brings salvation must be “with the heart,” that is, with the whole being. This belief also includes repentance: “Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” The Bible states in Acts 17:30, “God... now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.”
The faith which saves, then, includes the necessity to repent and to receive Christ as Savior and Lord, to rest upon Him alone for salvation. It means to trust Him so utterly and completely that, if He should fail, there would be no hope at all!
May I Know That I Am Born Again?
This is an important question. We know that we are born again by the testimony of God’s Word. God says in John 5:24, “He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” Have you believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as explained by God’s Word? If so, then you are saved, you are “born again,” you have “passed from death unto life.” God says so! Take God at His Word, and go on your way rejoicing!
One Final Word
You may “belong to a church,” you may be “trying to do the best you can,” you may be “striving to live right.” Your outward life may be the model of moral correctness, and you may be looked up to, honored, revered, and respected. Yet, if you have not been “born again,” you are just as lost as if you had never heard of Christ. Yes, you may teach in the Sunday school, read the Bible, sing, shout, “feel happy,” and all the rest—but if you have never been “born again,” you are still in your sins and a stranger to the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you want to be saved from the wrath to come and from an eternity in Hell, and if you believe that Jesus Christ suffered, bled, and died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead. You are willing to trust Jesus Christ with all of your heart so you can go to Heaven. Please pray with me what is called the sinner’s prayer:
Holy Father God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I admit that I have sinned against You and that I have broken Your Ten Commandments. I have lied before. I have stolen things before. I have lusted after people and things before. I have dishonored and disobeyed my parents. I have taken Your holy Name in vain. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please have mercy and grace upon my soul and forgive me of all of my sins, my failures, and my faults. As I now believe in Your Holy Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that He suffered, bled, and died on the cross for my sins, was buried, and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to repent of my sins past. Help me to turn from my old, evil life and follow You in the new life. For it is in Your Name I pray. Amen.
